20년 동안이나 지속되어져 왔던 미국 역사상 가장 길었던 전쟁인

미국과 아프가니스탄의 전쟁이 드디어 끝이 났습니다

Biden 미국 대통령이 아프가니스탄에서 8월31일까지 철수하라고 명령함에 따라

8월30일 오후 11시59분 미군병사를 싫은 마지막 C-17 수송기가 카불공항을 빠져나갔습니다

하지만 아직 100-200명의 미국인과 수만명의 미군을 도왔던 아프간사람들은 아프간에 남아있습니다

 

마지막 미군을 실은 수송기가 떠나자 탈레반은 드디어 아프가니스탄의 완벽한 독립이 왔다고

하늘에 총을 발포하며 기뻐했다고 합니다

하지만 정작 아프간 주민은 탈레반들때문에 공포에 떨고 있다고 합니다

 

2001년 9/11 테러 이후 George W. Bush대통령은 테러범들을 소탕하기 위해

21세기 첫 전쟁인 아프간전쟁을 시작하게 됩니다

이 전쟁은 Barack Obama와 Donald Trump 대통령을 지나

Biden 대통령때 까지 이어지게 되었고

Biden 대통령이 후보자 시절 아프간 전쟁을 끝내겠다는 공약을 걸고 이에 많은 지지를 얻게 되었습니다

하지만 전쟁을 끝내고 군대를 철수 하는 과정에서 많은 희생과 혼란이 있었고

이에 또 많은 질타를 받고 있습니다

 

20년이 넘는 전쟁가운데 

저번주에 있었던 테러희생자 13명을 포함한 2,461명의 미군이 죽었고

$824.9 billion의 돈이 사용되었습니다

 

미군이 철수 함에 따라 앞으로 아프가니스탄이 어떻게 될지는 알 수 없게 되었습니다

미국은 계속해서 UN을 통해 아프가니스탄을 돕겠다고 했지만

탈레반이 정권을 장악한 지금 혼란은 피할 수 없을 것으로 여겨집니다

미군이 철수함으로 인해 아프간주민들이 공포속에 살아가는게 안타깝지만

또 한편으로 미군의 희생이 계속되는 것도 안타까운일이기에

참 어려운 일인것 같습니다
